Infection prevention

“Shared equipment goes from patient to patient without a clean.”

Why it hurts

Commodes, IV poles and pumps move between rooms with no reliable record of when they were last cleaned or by whom. Contaminated shared equipment is a known path for infections to spread.

What changes with Control

  • Every item shows when it was last cleaned and by whom.
  • An item an inspector marks not clean, or whose clean is overdue, shows as Dirty everywhere until someone cleans it.
  • A room clean also records the items that were in the room.

The research

Primary route
