For unit clerks, aides, techs and transport
Unit clerks get a “room is ready” alert the moment a room passes inspection. Everyone on the unit can see room status, find equipment, and check that it’s clean before using it.
Unit clerks hear the moment a room is released, so the next admission can come up.
Commodes, IV poles and pumps show when they were last cleaned and by whom. A dirty item shows as Dirty everywhere.
Look up where a piece of equipment is and where it belongs.
Unit clerks can inspect a room and release it, so a bed doesn’t wait for one person to be free.
Example
You need a commode for a patient. You look it up and see it was cleaned at 07:40.
A room passes inspection. You get the alert and call for the next admission.
A pump’s clean is overdue. It shows as Dirty, so it goes to EVS instead of to a patient.
