Throughput

“We keep calling EVS to ask if the room is ready.”

Why it hurts

Nurses don’t know when EVS will arrive, and EVS doesn’t know which room is next. The gap gets filled with calls, pages and whiteboards, and each one pulls someone away from patients.

What changes with Control

  • Everyone sees the same room status, live: dirty, being cleaned, waiting for inspection, ready.
  • When EVS accepts a room, the room card shows it, so the nurse knows someone is on the way.
  • Unit clerks get a “room is ready” alert when the room is released.
